Who I am
I'm a software engineer from Blantyre, Malawi. Most of my time goes to the server side — designing APIs, tuning databases, and making sure the systems behind a product hold up under real use.
Right now I'm at InfinityPay, a fintech company, building and maintaining backend services and REST APIs — everything written test-first. Before that, at Valuations Africa I led the migration of the primary codebase from React to Next.js 14 with TypeScript, lifting Lighthouse scores by roughly 50%. Earlier still, I built a Go backend at NNDI where a Redis caching layer cut database latency by ~45%.
I like work that can be measured: faster pages, fewer failures, cleaner deploys. When something is slow or fragile, I want to know exactly why.
